ERNA BETH FOXWORTH Erna Beth Foxworth passed on January 28, 2002 at the age of 88. She graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas and the University of Houston. She was a feature story writer for the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Post and other publications in the area. She wrote a wonderful book called "The Romance of Old Sylvan Beach". She was a charter member of the La Porte, Texas Heritage Society. She was the youngest female disc jockey ever in Texas and worked at KFDM radio in Beaumont. She had a strong interest in theatre and was a publicist at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. Wyck, her oldest son, died of cancer. Erna and her husband John opened their home to cancer victims when they came to Houston for treatment. Her survivors include her husband of nearly 67 years, John, her son, Robert (he is a famous actor that starred on TV's "Falcon Crest"), 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was active for 41 years at the First Christian Church in Houston, Texas. |
